Craig graduated with first class honours from JCU and has predominantly worked in Townsville and surrounding areas. He has extensive experience working with current and ex-service defence force personnel and individuals with complex and persistent pain conditions.

Dr Akhilesh Tiwari

Pain Specialist and Anaesthetist

Dr. Akhilesh Tiwari is a dual specialist in Anaesthesia and pain medicine. He received his initial training in a few of India’s best centers before moving to National University Hospital Singapore to work as a clinical fellow in Anaesthesia and Chronic pain. He then moved to Toronto and worked at St Michael’s Hospital and Toronto Western Hospital from 2013 to 2016. At the University of Toronto, Dr. Tiwari received further training in regional anaesthesia, Trauma Neuro anaesthesia, and critical care. While working in Toronto, he developed an interest in the role of ultrasound in anaesthesia and pain medicine. After working in these centers, Dr. Tiwari moved to Townsville and worked at Townsville University Hospital since 2016. Here he obtained his specialist qualification in chronic pain (FFPMANZCA).

Dr Ilam Kaliaperumal is a dually qualified and certified Pain Specialist and Anaesthetist. Dr Ilam practices in the Townsville region’s public and private sectors. Dr Ilam is passionate about helping people living with pain achieve a better quality of life. His special interests include post-surgical pain, post-trauma pain, spine, knee, shoulder, hip pain and cancer pain.

Dr Ilam strongly believes in a multidisciplinary approach to pain management.
He has been serving the North Qld community since 2013. He moved with his family from South Australia, chasing the warmer weather.
Dr Ilam loves spending time with his wife, son and dog when not at work.

Julia Sullivan

Julia completed her undergraduate degree and postgraduate Diploma of Psychology at James Cook University. During her eighteen years experience in the industry, she has worked for various government and non-government organisations including the Department of Corrective Services, Mission Australia, the Vietnam Veterans Counselling Service (now Open Arms – Veterans & Families Counselling) and Queensland Health at Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drugs Services (ATODS).

Jonathan Entriken

Jonathan graduated with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from James Cook University and has been working in clinical practice since 2013.

During and prior to his time working as a Physiotherapist, Jonathan has developed an interest in and skills in the areas of pain management, paediatrics and sporting injuries and rehabilitation. Jonathan enjoys working with people across all ages to inform and assist them in getting the best physical and functional outcomes available to them.
